C2, C3 and C4 tyres selected for F1 return to Sepang
F1's September 30 report names the compounds for the rescheduled Bahrain Grand Prix in Malaysia.
Pirelli has selected C2, C3 and C4 as the hard, medium and soft tyres for the rescheduled Bahrain Grand Prix at Malaysia's Sepang International Circuit, according to Formula 1's September 30 announcement. The event marks F1's return to Malaysia after nine years.
The published allocation lists two sets of hard tyres, three medium and eight soft for each driver, plus intermediate and full-wet tyres if conditions require them. An extra soft set is reserved for drivers reaching Q3.
F1's account highlights thermal management and the lack of relevant data for the current cars at Sepang. It says Friday practice will be important for drivers learning the circuit and teams assessing balance and tyre behaviour. Those are preparation challenges, not a prediction that a particular driver or strategy will win.
The circuit guide explains the unusual event name: Malaysia stepped in after the Bahrain Grand Prix was moved from its original April slot. The weekend therefore takes place at Sepang, not Bahrain's Sakhir circuit. This original summary keeps that distinction rather than silently changing the official race name.
