Malaysia and ten-man Indonesia draw 0-0 in ASEAN Cup
FIFA reports a first-half red card for Thom Haye in Jakarta.
Malaysia and Indonesia drew 0-0 at the Gelora Bung Karno in Jakarta on September 28, according to FIFA's match report. Both had won their opening group matches before the scoreless meeting.
Indonesia's Thom Haye received a straight red card after a VAR review of his challenge on Arif Aiman in the first half. Playing with ten did not prevent Indonesia from creating chances: FIFA records a Dean James effort saved by Syihan Hazmi and a Kevin Diks shot into the side netting.
Late in the match, Maarten Paes made a save and Justin Hubner cleared off the goal line as Malaysia sought a winner. Those defensive interventions preserved the draw; they are not goals to add to the completed score.
The split points left both teams one point ahead of Singapore, with final group fixtures ahead. FIFA lists Malaysia against Singapore and Indonesia against Bangladesh on Thursday. The upcoming fixtures do not establish either team's final group position.
